Raptors vs Cavaliers 2016

I hope you took my advice last weekend and went for the Raptors and the over, if you did congratulations, and if you didn’t, don’t worry, we will continue to provide you with the best picks for NBA.

Raptors head to the finals against the Cavaliers

So the Toronto Raptors took the win last Sunday over the Miami Heat and are now heading to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in franchise history. Conference finals start this Tuesday, May 17, when the defending champs, Cleveland Cavaliers, will receive the Toronto Raptors for the first game of the series, at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Cleveland represents a huge challenge for the Raptors, Cavaliers have had a full week to rest which works to their advantage, although they really don’t need it since in general they are a better team than Toronto, both offensively and defensively, they are just a solid team with a solid lineup: LeBron James who hopes to reach his sixth consecutive NBA Final, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and JR Smith.

The problem for the Raptors remains the same, they depend on two players, Kyle Lowry, who keeps carrying the Raptors and of course, DeMar DeRozan;  the question we are all asking ourselves is,  can Lowry  manage to continue doing this? Perhaps being in the finals will positively affect the team’s collective performance, and them playing together well is what they need to upset the Cavaliers.

Cavaliers are favorites to win, no surprise there, the current point spread has them at  -10 ½ , moneyline is at -700,  while the total stands at 201.5, in reality Cleveland is the logical choice, a stronger team playing at home that has had several days to rest;  but don’t count out the Raptors, remember that during the regular season they came out with the victory in two of the three games against the Cavaliers, and they should be inspired and motivated which that can take a team a long way.  Currently 59% of the bets are placed on Toronto + 10 ½ which is a quite interesting and tempting bet, and NBA bettors are going for the under 201.5.

My pick… for this first game I like Cavaliers to win, although I am not happy with that -10 ½ line… but I’d still take the Cavs this first game and the over.  For the complete series … I’d say Cavaliers again, in 5.
